Jessica Taavo
Jessica grew up in beautiful Juoksengi, a little village located in Northern Sweden, where the Torne River and the Arctic Circle cross. Juoksengi is small, very small, but it has a great little market, a church, a school, a daycare, and that's about it. The population is around 500 people and 200 cows. The closest town is Övertorneå, which is 24km south. Jessica has a younger brother named Charlie who lives in Southern Sweden with his wife Lisa.
After traveling around the world at the age of 19, Jessica decided to visit the US for a few months in 1998. She met Bill on her second to last night in the US, at 1015 Folsom, a night club in San Francisco. Three months later she returned to the US. They reunited after a couple weeks. Jessica moved in with Bill on Valentine's Day 1999 and a year later Bill and Jessica were married at Natural Bridges State Beach in the company of their parents, siblings, one mutual friend and that friend's friend (who cried the most out of everyone).
Bill Sutherland
Bill was born in Los Gatos, California and lived there for about a year before talking his parents into moving into a bigger place. They moved a couple miles east to the wonderful city of San Jose, you know, that big city just south of San Francisco. In contrast to to Juoksengi, San Jose has a population of almost one million and there is more than one gas station. Bill has a twin sister, Julie, and an older sister, Brenda.
Bill moved around the bay a few times... Mountain View, Berkeley and Redwood City before meeting Jessica. She moved in with Bill while he lived in Redwood City, but they soon moved to San Francisco, then Berkeley. Eventually they moved to San Jose... AGAIN!
He owns a small consulting company called Wannawow Consulting which caters to individuals and small businesses who need website development & hosting, as well as general computer & internet support.
Zoe
Zoe Hanna, the youngest member of the family, was born in Santa Clara, CA on February 19th, 2004. Zoe is an accomplished world traveler, having visited Sweden and Finland five times in as many years, as well as Colorado, Chicago, Saint Louis, and Georgia. Zoe never slows down, and never gives Bill or Jessica a break. She is an amazing artist, and quite possibly the cutest child on the planet.
Kalle & Kicki
Jessica's father, Kalle Taavo, runs the local cable network which provides cable television and broadband Internet service to the community. Kicki owns a catering business and makes the best smorgås tårtas in all of Sweden.
